Emotions accompany us every single day. Sometimes we show them openly, and sometimes we prefer to keep them to ourselves. They shape how we think, act, and see others. That is precisely what this exhibition is about: different emotions and how they are portrayed in art. This exhibition was developed and curated in collaboration with students in grades 7 and 8. It offers a fresh, young perspective on Old Masters — focusing not on art history, but on emotions as a topic and gateway to art.

Das Verständnis
Emotions are rarely simple – they can often be contradictory: fearful yet brave, sad yet angry. You can find feelings like anger, grief, fear, or hope woven into many paintings and sculptures. They are brought to life through facial expressions, colours, and movement, making them visible and relatable to others. Everyone feels something different when looking at art, and there is no right or wrong answer. We invite you to connect art and emotions, gather your own impressions, and explore the artworks from your personal perspective.
